Alopecia Areata in Children

Areta alopecia in children is unusual. In infants, dermatology consultations represent 2% to 5%, although there is no known cause of alopecia, which is defined as hair loss of any origin and etiology, it is believed that its origin is multifunctional, involving genetic predisposition and immune deficiency.

Also may be due to protein malnutrition, especially in the phase of growth of the hair follicle, or states of hyperthyroidism, anemia and in some cases to consequences of chemotherapy.
